Castle of Sant'Aniceto
The Castle of Sant'Aniceto (also San Niceto) is a Byzantine castle built in the early 11th century on a hill in Motta San Giovanni, now in the province of Reggio Calabria, southern Italy. It is one of the few examples of High Middle Ages architecture in Calabria, as well as one of the few well-preserved Byzantine fortifications in the world. The name derives from that of St. Nicetas, a Byzantine admiral who lived in the 7th-8th centuries.

Punta di Pellaro
Punta di Pellaro is the extreme southwestern point of mainland Italy, in the region of Calabria, looking towards the east coast of Sicily, at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:38|01|N|15|38|E||| | |name= }}. Anciently, a promontory of Bruttium, it was in consequence of its location generally regarded as the termination of the chain of the Apennines. Pliny tells us it was 12 miles from Rhegium. The whiteness of the rocks composing this headland gave origin to the ancient name.
