Termini Airfield

Termini Airfield is an abandoned World War II military airfield on Sicily, located approximately 4 km west-northwest of Termini Imerese. It was an all-weather temporary field built by the XII Engineer Command using a graded earth compacted surface, with a prefabricated hessian (burlap) surfacing known as PHS. PHS was made of an asphalt-impregnated jute which was rolled out over the compacted surface over a square mesh track (SMT) grid of wire joined in 3-inch squares.

Targa Florio

The Targa Florio was an open road endurance automobile race held in the mountains of Sicily near Palermo. Founded in 1906, it was the oldest sports car racing event, part of the World Sportscar Championship between 1955 and 1973. While the first races consisted of a whole tour of the island, the track length in the race's last decades was limited to the 72 kilometres of the Circuito Piccolo delle Madonie, which was lapped 11 times.

Himera

Himera, was an important ancient Greek city of Sicily, situated on the north coast of the island, at the mouth of the river of the same name, between Panormus and Cephaloedium. Its remains lie within the borders of the modern comune of Termini Imerese.
