Taita-Taveta District
Taita Taveta-District was fprmerly one of the seventy-one districts of Kenya, located in the Coast Province of that country. It lies approximately 200 km northwest of Mombasa and 360 km southeast of Nairobi city. The population of the district 30 years ago was approximately 45,000 persons but this has shot up to well over 250,000 persons with population densities ranging from 3 persons per km. to more than 800 persons per km.

Bura, Taita-Taveta District, Kenya
Bura is a village in the Taita-Taveta District of Coast Province in Kenya, south of Wundanyi. Bura is located 10 kilometres west of Mwatate and its approximately 60 miles from the Indian Ocean. Administratively, Bura is a location in Mwatate division of Taita-Taveta District. The geography of the location is quite diverse) extending from the grassy fields) swamps and acacia forest of the plains) to the dense patches of forest surrounded by semi-terraced farms on the steep hillsides.

Taita Hills
The Taita Hills, sometimes also spelled as Teita Hills, are a precambrian mountain range in the south-west of Kenya in Taita-Taveta District. The hills consist of three massifs namely Dabida, Sagalla in the southern side of Voi township and Kasigau in the south near the border of Tanzania. The Dawida massif is the largest and tallest of the three, with an altitude of 2,228 meters above sea level at its highest peak, Vuria. Dabida has three other main peaks: Iyale, Wesu, and Susu.

Ngangao Forest
Ngangao Forest is one of the few remaining indigenous cloud forest fragments of the Taita Hills, Kenya. It is located on a rock surrounded by the villages of Makandenyi, Maghimbinyi, Mgambonyi and Kitumbi. It lies 10 km from Wundanyi and can easily be reached by road. There is even frequent public transport from Wundanyi to Makandenyi (at least 10 vehicles daily). The very basic "Ngangao forest camp" is located next to the forester's house at the edge of forest.
