Prilep, Kosovo
For the city in the Republic of Macedonia, see Prilep Prilep is a village situated in western Kosovo, close to Đakovica. The village has a population of 2,674 according to data from 2002, of which 99.6% are ethnic Albanian. In the beginning of the 19th century, there were only about 5 to 10 houses, while today there are over 300. During the Kosovo War of 1999 the village was nearly completely destroyed. Đakovica Airfield AMIKO (Albanian: Aeroporti i Gjakovës, Serbian: Аеродром Ђаковица, Aerodrom Đakovica) is an airfield near Đakovica (also known as Djakovica or Gjakova) in western Kosovo. Following the 1999 Kosovo War, the airfield has been expanded and modernized by the Kosovo Force (KFOR) and is used mainly for military and humanitarian flights.
