Prilepnica Lake is a small lake situated in western Kosovo, surrounded by the Goljak mountains. Prilepnica Lake is found just north-east of the city of Gnjilane, also it supplies water for the city. A tributary of the South Morava flows through the lake and it is the largest lake in the east of Kosovo.

Novo Brdo Fortress (Serbian: Тврђава Ново Брдо, Tvrđava Novo Brdo; Albanian: Kalaja e Novoberdës) is a medieval fortress in Kosovo, whose ruins are located near the town of Novo Brdo, some 20 km from Pristina and 30 - 35 km from Gnjilane. It is strategically situated on the 1124 m high top of Mala planinica, between rivers Kriva reka, Prilepnica and Novo Brdo river, which are all left tributaries of Binačka Morava.

Gnjilane
Gnjilane or Gjilan is a city and municipality in eastern Kosovo. It is the administrative center of the District of Gnjilane. It is famous for having been recorded the lowest temperature in Kosovo with −32.5 °C on 25 January 1963.

The District of Gnjilane or District of Gjilan (Albanian: Qarku i Gjilanit; is one the seven districts of Kosovo, with seat in the town of Gnjilane.
