Karakol, formerly Przhevalsk, is fourth largest city in Kyrgyzstan, near the eastern tip of Issyk Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan, about 150 kilometres from the Kyrgyzstan-China border and 380 kilometres from the capital Bishkek.
