2007 Bukit Gantang bus crash

The 2007 Bukit Gantang bus crash was the worst road accident in Malaysian history. Twenty passengers of the Super Express bus were killed in the accident which took place near Bukit Berapit, Bukit Gantang, Changkat Jering, Perak. It occurred on August 13, 2007 at 4.40 am, when the bus driver, Rohizan Abu Bakar, lost control of the bus as it was going down an incline and it crashed into a ditch at the 229th kilometre of the North-South Expressway. Bakar, 38, died, along with 19 passengers.

Bercham

Bercham is a suburb of Ipoh next to the North-South Expressway in Perak, Malaysia. It is located between the Ipoh South Interchange of North-South Expressway and Ipoh city. It is near Ipoh Garden, Tasek, Tambun and Tanjung Rambutan. There are a number of housing estates in Bercham. Bercham began as a tin mining town but later evolved to its present status when the tin deposits dwindled. It covers 8,877 hectares of which 56% of the land is utilized for housing, industry and agriculture.
