Kerteh

Kerteh is a town in the district of Kemaman in southern Terengganu, Malaysia, about 30 km or 20 minutes' drive north of Chukai. Kerteh is the base of operations for Petronas in Terengganu, overseeing the oil platform operations off the state's coast as well as petrochemicals production and crude oil refining in nearby Paka. The Ma'Daerah turtle sanctuary is also nearby.

Kerteh Airport

Kerteh Airport is an airport in Kerteh, a town in the state of Terengganu in Malaysia. The airport is owned and operated by Petroliam Nasional Berhad or Petronas via its East Coast Regional Office (ECRO), and was built to serve the purpose of airlifting its employees and ExxonMobil employees to their various oil platforms located 100–200 km offshore South China Sea. The airport although small, has a single 3000 metre-long runway which can accommodate a Boeing 737-400 aircraft.

Kemasik is a small town in Terengganu, Malaysia. The town's major attraction is Kemasik Beach (Pantai Kemasik in Malay). Kemasik is located midway between Kerteh and Kijal.

USS Carbonero (SS-337)

USS Carbonero (SS/AGSS-337) was a Balao-class submarine, the first ship of the United States Navy to be named for the carbonero, a salt-water fish found in the West Indies. Her keel was laid down on 16 December 1943 by the Electric Boat Company of Groton, Connecticut. She was launched on 19 October 1944 sponsored by Mrs. S.S. Murray, and commissioned on 7 February 1945 with Commander Charlton L. Murphy, Jr. in command.

Kijal

Kijal is a small town in southern Terengganu, Malaysia. The town is well known for the Awana Kijal Golf and Beach Resort, a luxury resort and a stop over for Star Cruises ocean liners, which are both owned by the Genting Group. Kijal was popularly known because of its durian and lemang. Lemang is glutinous rice cooked with coconut milk in hollow bamboo over an open fire. Lemang is served with rendang or beef floss during celebrations such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
