Sidi Kacem

Sidi Kacem is a city in Morocco. It is located at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:34|13|0|N|5|42|0|W| | |name= }}. During the French period, it was called Petitjean, after a French captain who was killed in May 1911 during the "pacification" of Morocco. Oil drilling exploration commenced in the vicinity of Sidi Kacem by the French in 1934; production of crude oil began locally in 1939.

Sidi Slimane is a newly formed province and is a small city in the western centre of Morocco. It is located between two major cities: Kenitra and Meknes. In 2004 the population was 78,060 habitants for the city proper and about 150,000 habitants for the urban area. The economy is mainly focused on agriculture.
