Oshikango
Oshikango is a village in northern Namibia and a border post with Angola. Since 2004 it has been part of the town of Helao Nafidi but still maintains its own village council. It is the district capital of the Oshikango Constituency. Oshikango is estimated to have grown from "a tiny cluster of shebeens around an open market into a thriving boomtown with around 5,000 to 8,000 inhabitants over a period of 10 years".

It has been established in 2004 as an amalgamation of several villages and settlements along the main road between Oshikango and Ohangwena which are both also part of the town. Helao Nafidi has 43,000 inhabitants.

2009 Angola, Namibia and Zambia floods
The 2009 Angola, Namibia and Zambia floods was a natural disaster which began in early March 2009 and resulted in the deaths of at least 131 people and otherwise affected around 445,000 people. The floods affected seven regions of Namibia, three provinces of Zambia, two regions of Angola and part of Botswana. The floodwaters damaged buildings and infrastructure and displaced at least 300,000 people.

Edundja
Edundja is a community in northern part of Namibia in Ohangwena region; it is found 15Km east of Oshikango and it is closer to the Angolian border. There are two schools, a clinic and a church. The schools are Edundja primary school which has grade 1 to 7, and Edundja junior secondary which has grade 8 to 10 . Edundja is home village to the honorable minister of mines and energy Mr Erriki Nghimtina and the former NAMPOWER director Leaky Hangala.
