Dolpa District (Nepali: डोल्पा जिल्ला, is one of the five districts of the Karnali Zone in Nepal - a landlocked country of South Asia. The district, with Dunai as its district headquarters, covers an area of 7,889 km and has a population of 36,700.

Phoksundo Lake

Phoksundo Lake, also known as Shey Phoksundo Lake, is an alpine fresh water oligotrophic lake in Nepal's Shey Phoksundo National Park, located at an altitude of 3,611.5 m above sea level in the Dolpa District. Phoksundo Lake is 494 ha in size with a water volume of 409,000,000 m and a discharge of 3.715 m/s . In 2004, a survey by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology measured the maximum depth of the lake at 145 m . In September 2007, Phoksundo Lake has been designated a Ramsar site.
