Anholt, Drenthe

Anholt is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located in the municipality De Wolden, about 2 km west of Pesse, to which it belongs. According to the 19th century historian A.J. van der Aa, it had about 20 inhabitants in the middle of the 19th century, and was also called "Anhalt".

Het Oude Jachthuis is a restaurant located in Eursinge, near Pesse, in the Netherlands. It was a former fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1966-1980. Arnold van Doesburg was the head chef and owner of the restaurant in the period 1960-2005. Het Oude Jachthuis, represented by Arnold van Doesburg, was one of the founders of Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise The family Van Doesburg still runs Het Oude Jachthuis, but added a Bed and Breakfast in 2005.

Pesse

Pesse is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is located in the municipality of Hoogeveen. The village is mainly known for the Pesse canoe, believed to be the world's oldest known boat. Carbon dating indicates that the boat was constructed during the early mesolithic period between 8040 BCE and 7510 BCE. It is currently housed in the Drents Museum in Assen, Netherlands. The canoe was found during the construction of the nearby A28.
