Woeste Hoeve

De Woeste Hoeve is a place in the Netherlands near Apeldoorn which is remembered for an incident in the Second World War when, during the night of 6 March 1945, Dutch resistance fighters shot the Nazi Chief of Police, SS General Hans Rauter. The shooting occurred accidentally when a group of six resistance fighters were on an assignment to capture a German truck so that they could steal food intended for the Germans. They chose Woeste Hoeve because of its remote location.

Hoenderloo

Hoenderloo is a Dutch village located south west of the city of Apeldoorn. Most of the village is part of the municipality of Apeldoorn, but a small part belongs to the municipality of Ede, among which the hamlet Hoog Baarlo. The village is located in the Southern part of the Veluwe and close to the national park Hoge Veluwe and the Deelerwoud. Loenen, Apeldoorn

Loenen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Apeldoorn, about 10 km southeast of that city. Loenen was a separate municipality until 1818, when it was merged with Apeldoorn.

Beekbergen

Beekbergen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Apeldoorn, about 5 km south of that city. Beekbergen was a separate municipality until 1818, when it became a part of Apeldoorn. The railway station is home to a steam railway that runs from Dieren to Apeldoorn operated by the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij, The VSW engine sheds are located at Beekbergen.

Terlet Airfield

Terlet Airfield is a small airfield in the Netherlands 2.5 NM north of Arnhem in Gelderland and close to Deelen Air Base. It is used mainly by gliders and motor gliders, as well as some light aircraft such as the Aviat Husky, mainly used as tugs for the gliders. It has six grass winchtracks, 04L/22R, 04C/22C, 04R/22L, 12/30, 14R/32L and 14L/32R. From only one strip motorised aircraft are allowed to operate, and only when prior permission is obtained.
