GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16.0 out of 20 points. The restaurant is in fact a continuation of Le Mérinos d'Or, a former Michelin-starred restaurant in Groningen. Onder de Linden had from the start a Michelin-star. This because head chef Geerhard Slenema could bring the Michelin-star with him from Le Mérinos d'Or.

Aduard
Aduard is a village in the municipality of Zuidhorn, in the Netherlands. It is located about 8 km northwest of Groningen. The history of Aduard dates back to the foundation in 1192 of a Cistercian abbey, where famous early Humanists like Rodolphus Agricola and Wessel Gansfort studied and lectured. The centre of the village is dominated by the so called Abdijkerk (abbey church), one of the last visible remains of the erstwhile prestigious monastery.
