At the 2001 municipal reform, most of the former municipality of Nieuwleusen was incorporated into the municipality of Dalfsen. Den Hulst, spelled at times De Hulst and pronounced Nulst locally is a historical Dutch hamlet which was incorporated into the village and municipality of Nieuwleusen (today in the municipality of Dalfsen). The northern part of Nieuwleusen is known as Den Hulst to this day.

Den Aalshorst
Den Aalshorst is a country house in the hamlet of Millingen in the Overijssel Dalfsen municipality in the Netherlands. The 450 hectare property is privately owned, but completely open to the public. It features an open landscape interspersed with 150 hectares of deciduous forest. As of 2007, the property was owned by 'N.V. den Aalshorst'. The original house on the property was built in 1644, and rebuilt in 1720.
