Sébaco

Sébaco Is a municipality in the Matagalpa department of Nicaragua. Situated at the junction of the Pan-American Highway and the Rio Grande de Matagalpa, Sébaco is the largest town of the agricultural valley of the same name. The Sébaco valley is some of the most fertile land in Nicaragua. Vegetable fields stretch as far as the eye can see to the west. 5 km further north, a highway branches east from the Pan-American towards the city of Matagalpa.

San Dionisio, Matagalpa

San Dionisio is a small municipality in the Matagalpa department of Nicaragua. Originally named Espino Blanco, the town was renamed San Dionisio in honor of Dionisio Herrera, former president of Nicaragua. This small town is 90 miles away from Managua, the capital of Nicaragua, and 30 miles away from Matagalpa city, the capital of the Metagalpa Department. People from this town are informally known as "nichanos".

Matagalpa

Matagalpa is a city in Nicaragua, the capital of the department of Matagalpa. The city has a population of 109,100 (2005 census), while the population of the department is more than 480,000. Matagalpa is Nicaragua's sixth largest city and one of its most commercially active outside of Managua. Matagalpa is the second most important city in Nicaragua and is known as the "Pearl of the North" and "Land of Eternal Spring."

Matagalpa is a department or region in central Nicaragua. It covers an area of 8,523 km² and has a population of 644,900 (2010 est). The capital is the city of Matagalpa with about 250.000. Matagalpa is the second region of the country in population size, and the fourth in area (after the North Atlantic, the South Atlantic, and Jinotega. Matagalpa is the most diversified region producing coffee, cattle, milk products, vegetables, wood, gold, flowers.
