Ejigbo

Ejigbo is a prominent town in Yoruba Land and the headquarters of Ejigbo Local Government Area, one of the oldest local government areas of Osun State in Nigeria. Ejigbo is strategically placed in the middle of the region, as 35 kilometres north-east of Iwo, 30 km from Ogbomoso in the north and 24 km from Ede in the south-east. It is about 40 km north-west of Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, and about 95 km north-east of Ibadan.

Oba Hills Forest Reserve

Oba Hills Forest Reserve is a reserve in Osun State, Nigeria that covers about 52 km of hilly terrain with deep gorges. A 2003 report by the UICN said about 12% of the reserve had been planted with teak. Some chimpanzee sightings had been reported, and in 1999 a dead chimp was offered for sale in a local market. A 2009 report said that almost all of the reserve had been converted to plantations and farms, with only two gullies remaining forest-covered.

Oyo, Nigeria

Oyo is a city in Oyo State, Nigeria, founded as the capital of the Oyo Kingdom in the 1830s and known to its people as 'New Oyo' (Ọyọ Atiba) to distinguish it from the former capital to the north, 'Old Oyo' (Ọyọ-Ile)) which had been deserted as a result of rumors of war. Its inhabitants are mostly of the Yoruba people and its ceremonial ruler is the Alaafin of Oyo. The city is on the A1 highway, north of Ibadan.
