Yenagoa is a Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Yenagoa (the State capital) in the south of the area at{{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:4|55|29|N|6|15|51|E|region:NG_type:city_source:GNS-enwiki | |name= }}. The LGA has an area of 706 km² and a population of 353,344 at the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 561. Yenagoa is the traditional home of the Ijaw people. Yenagoa Township Stadium
Yenagoa Township Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Yenagoa, Nigeria. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of both Ocean Boys FC and Bayelsa United. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 people. It was rededicated in 2009 and named after former Nigeria standout Samson Siasia. Samson Siasia is a former Nigerian soccer player who has coached a number of teams and recorded a number of successes.

Bayelsa State
Bayelsa State is a state in southern Nigeria in the core Niger Delta region, between Delta State and Rivers State. Its capital is Yenagoa. The four main languages spoken are Izon, Nembe, Epie-Atissa and Ogbia. Like the rest of Nigeria, English is the official language. The state was formed in 1996 from part of Rivers State and is thus one of the newest states of the Nigerian federation.
