Niger Delta

Nigeria Delta, the delta of the Niger River in Nigeria, is a very densely populated region sometimes called the Oil Rivers because it was once a major producer of palm oil. The area was the British Oil Rivers Protectorate from 1885 until 1893, when it was expanded and became the Niger Coast Protectorate. The Niger Delta, as now defined officially by the Nigerian government, extends over about 70,000 km² and makes up 7.5% of Nigeria’s land mass.

Ahoada

Ahoada (correctly spelt Ehuda) is an Ekpeye people city in and an administrative subdivision of Rivers State, Nigeria, located northwest of Port Harcourt. The Ahoada region is divided into two Local Government Areas: Ahoada East, with its seat in Ahoada, and Ahoada West, with its seat in Akinima. The Ekpeye (an Igbo group) are the indigenous people of Ahoada where the Ekpeye dialect is spoken.

Eleme, Nigeria

Eleme Local Government Area is an administrative subdivision of Rivers State, Nigeria, located east of Port Harcourt. It covers an area of 138 km and at the 2006 Census had a population of 190,884. Its capital was changed from Nchia to Ogale by the legislative council during the Chairmanship of Honourable Olaka Nwogu now of the National Assembly. The administrative offices have always being located in Ogale, believed to be the first town of Eleme.

Forcados River

The Forcados River is a channel in the Niger Delta, in southern Nigeria. It flows for approximately 198 km and meets the sea at the Bight of Benin in Delta State. It is an important channel for small ships. The Forcados River splits from the Niger River at the same point as the Nun River. People have been fishing on this river for years and then came to a dock on the Niger River to sell/store and use for personal consumption.
