Strandebarm

Strandebarm is a former municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. It was created in 1837 as Strandebarm formannskapsdistrikt. In 1863 the rural district Jondal, located on the opposite shore of the Hardangerfjord, was separated from Strandebarm to constitute a municipality of its own. The same thing happened on 1 January 1902 when Varaldsøy municipality was created, leaving Strandebarm with a population of 1,661.

Norheimsund

Norheimsund is the municipal administrative centre of Kvam, Norway. The village is located on the northern side of the Hardangerfjord, about 80 km from Bergen. The waterfall Steinsdalsfossen, as of 2006 the 6th most visited natural tourist attraction in Norway, is located near Norheimsund. In 2007, Norheimsund had a population of 2,053. Norheimsund does not have its own secondary school.

Steinsdalsfossen

Steinsdalsfossen (also called Øvsthusfossen or Øfsthusfossen) is a waterfall 2 kilometers west of Norheimsund, Hardanger in western Norway. The waterfall is one of the most visited in Norway. A path goes behind it where visitors can walk dryshod "into" the rumbling water. Steinsdalsfossen is about 50 meters high and is greatest when the snow melts in May and June. Steinsdalsfossen is part of the Fosselva river that spring from the water Myklavatn 814 meters above sea level.
