Western Norway Emigration Center

Western Norway Emigration Center is a Norwegian American museum located at Sletta on the island of Radøy in Hordaland, Norway, in honour of the Norwegians who emigrated to the United States and Canada. The museum consists of six historical buildings, which were all built by Norwegian emigrants in the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, and removed from Minnesota and North Dakota to Norway.

Manger, Norway

Manger is a former municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. It was created as Manger formannskapsdistrikt in 1837. On 1 January 1871 the district Herdla with 2,484 inhabitants split away to form a municipality of its own, and on 1 January 1910 the same thing happened with Hjelme. The splits left Manger with a population of 4,453. Manger was to be divided again on 1 July 1924, when the new municipalities Bø and Sæbø were created. After this final split Manger had a population of 1,426.

Cross Link

Cross Link is a proposed fixed link which would connect Øygarden, northern Askøy, Meland and Radøy in Hordaland, Norway. The road is planned to give better transport within Nordhordland and from there to Askøy and Øygarden. Specifically, the proposal includes a ferry from the Kollsnes area of Øygarden to somewhere south of Herdla in Askøy, a subsea road tunnel from the same area to Meland, and road across the island and then a new subsea section across to Radøy.
