Vangsvatnet

Vangsvatnet is a lake in the municipality of Voss in Hordaland county, Norway. The lake is used for various water based extreme sports activities like Kite surfing and boat dragged paragliding. The Vosso River flows through both Vangsvatnet and Evangervatnet before it empties into Bolstadfjord by the village of Bolstadøyri. Vangsvatnet is named after the place Vangen - the center and old churchsite of Voss. The last element is the finite form of vatn, meaning lake.

Utne

Utne is a village in Ullensvang municipality in Hardanger, Norway. It is home to the Utne Hotel, Norway's oldest hotel in continuous operation, founded in 1722. Utne, in Norwegian, probably has some pre-Germanic elements, i.e. before approx. 200 CE. Other place-names in the area also has an element of pre-Germanic and unknown origins. It has been suggested that it derives from "Ut-tun", meaning the hamlet or farmstead that is "out".

Voss Station

Voss Station is a railway station on the Bergen Line located in Voss, Norway. The station was opened as the original terminal station of the Voss Line in 1883. It is served by express trains to Bergen and Oslo, and the Bergen Commuter Rail, all operated by Norwegian State Railways. Most commuter trains terminate at Voss, but up to seven per day continue on to Myrdal. The station restaurant was taken over by Norsk Spisevognselskap on 15 October 1947.

Vossevangen

Vossevangen is the centre of Voss municipality in Hordaland, Norway. The population is about 5500. It's located in the center of Voss at the north-east edge of Vangsvatnet. Vossevangen takes its name from the Old Norwegian word vang that can mean field or meadow, and refers to a large grass field lying between the church and Vangsvatnet. Voss is situated on the main road and railway line from Oslo to Bergen, about 100 kilometres east of Bergen.
