The waterfall consists of seven separate streams, and it is located along the Geirangerfjord in the municipality of Stranda in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The waterfall is located just south of the historic Knivsflå farm, across the fjord from the old Skageflå farm. The falls are about 6.5 kilometres west of the village of Geiranger.

Oppstrynsvatn
Oppstrynsvatn (also known as Oppstrynsvatnet, Strynevatnet, or Strynevatn) is a lake in the municipality of Stryn in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It is located about 8 kilometres east of the municipal center of Stryn. The villages of Flo, Oppstryn, and Erdal are located on the shores of the lake. The lake has an area of 22.87 square kilometres and is surrounded by many large mountains and glaciers.

Sunnylvsfjorden
The Sunnylvsfjord is a branch of the Storfjord in the municipality of Stranda in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The Geirangerfjord branches off to the west from the Sunnylvsfjord. The 25-kilometre long Sunnylvsfjord splits from the Norddalsfjorden just south of the village of Helsem. The village of Hellesylt sits at the end of the fjord. The historic Me-Åkernes farm lies on a cliff on the north side of the fjord.
