Hvittingfoss

Hvittingfoss is a village in the municipality of Kongsberg, in the county of Buskerud, Norway. Hvittingfoss has traditionally been associated with the manufacture of pulp, paper and paper products. Prior to the municipal merger in 1964, Hvittingfoss was in Ytre Sandsvær. Hvittingfoss borders Lardal and Hof. Hvittingfoss is located about 30 kilometers from Kongsberg. The river Numedalslågen runs through the village. The village population (2005) is 1,016.

Høyjord stave church

Høyjord stave church (Høyjord Stavkirke) is a stave church situated in Høyjord, Andebu, Norway and was built in the end of the 11th century. The church was later removed once and rebuilt. Last reconstruction was completed in 1950. The church is also the only stave church which is left in the county of Vestfold. The church is one of two preserved churches having a pillar or post in the middle. In addition tho this central post there are 12 staves, all of which supports the building.
