Widerøe Flight 710

Widerøe Flight 710, commonly known as the Torghatten Accident, was a controlled flight into terrain into the mountain of Torghatten in Brønnøy, Norway. The Widerøe-operated de Havilland Canada Dash 7 crashed on 6 May 1988 at 20:29:30 during approach to Brønnøysund Airport, Brønnøy. All thirty-six people on board LN-WFN were killed; the crash remains the deadliest accident of the Dash 7 and in Northern Norway.

German submarine U-1060

German submarine U-1060 was a Type VIIF submarine of the German Kriegsmarine during World War II. Commissioned on 15 May 1943, U-1060 was one of four Type VIIF torpedo transport submarines, which could carry 39 torpedoes, and were used to re-supply other U-boats at sea. U-1060 served from 15 May 1943 to 27 October 1944 with 55th U-boat Flotilla, a training unit.

Bindalsfjorden

Bindalsfjorden is a fjord in the southern part of Nordland county, Norway. The fjord is mostly located in the municipality of Bindal with a small part in neighboring Sømna municipality. The 26-kilometre long fjord begins near the villages of Terråk and Vassås where the Sørfjorden and Tosenfjorden join together. It then flows northwest past Bindalseidet and then southwest past Holm.
