Flatkvål
Flatkvål is a village in the Eksingedalen valley in Vaksdal municipality, Norway. From 1837 Flatkvål was administratively a part of Voss. On 1 January 1885 the district Evanger, where Eksingedalen and Flatkvål was located, was separated from Voss to create a separate municipality. On 1 January 1964 the districts of Bergsdalen and Eksingedalen with 251 inhabitants combined were merged with Bruvik and a part of Modalen to create the new municipality Vaksdal.

Eksingedalen
Eksingedalen is a valley that make up the northern part of Vaksdal municipality in Hordaland County, Norway. Eksingedalen stretches over 50 km. The Ekso River runs through the entire valley, transforming itself from river and falls to alpine lakes. The Stølsheimen Mountains surround Eksingedalen. At 1433 meters above sea level, Kvitanosi is the highest mountain peak in Eksingedalen. Mainly a farming community, about 200-300 people live in Eksingedalen.
