Straumøya

Straumøya is an island in the municipality of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. The 29.7-square-kilometre island is located on the south side of the Saltfjorden, just east of the Saltstraumen strait. The island is connected to the mainland by the Indre Sunnan Bridge and to the nearby Knaplundsøya island by the Saltstraumen Bridge, both bridges are a part of Norwegian County Road 17.

Bodø Region

The Bodø Region is a metropolitan region in Nordland county in northern Norway, centered around the town of Bodø. Before 1 January 2005, the municipality of Skjerstad was part of the region, but it has since merged into the town of Bodø. There are several "city regions" that the government has declared in Norway. In addition to these areas in the "official" region, many people in neighboring Fauske commute daily to Bodø.

Indre Sunnan Bridge (Norwegian: Indre Sunnan bru) is a cantilever bridge in the municipality of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. It crosses a strait between the island of Straumøya and the mainland, just south of the Saltstraumen. The bridge is 360 metres long and the main span is 165 metres .

Åselistraumen Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Åselistraumen strait in the municipality of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. The concrete bridge is part of Norwegian County Road 17. It is 200 metres long and the longest span is 30 metres .

Saltstraumen Bridge

Saltstraumen Bridge is a cantilever box girder bridge that crosses the Saltstraumen strait between the islands of Knaplundøya and Straumøya in the municipality of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. The bridge is 768 metres long, the longest of the 10 spans is 160 metres, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 41 metres . The bridge is made of prestressed concrete. Saltstraumen Bridge was opened in 1978.
