Idd

Idd is a parish and former municipality in Halden, Østfold county, Norway. The parish of Id was established as a municipality January 1, 1838. The rural municipality was merged with the city of Halden January 1, 1967. Prior to the merger Idd had a population of 7,213. The municipality (originally the parish) is probably named after an old name of the vicarage. The meaning of the name is, however, unknown. Until 1918 the name was written Id.

Halden Station

Halden Station is a railway station located in downtown Halden in Østfold, Norway, located on the Østfold Line. The station is served by Norwegian State Railways InterCity Express on an hourly or semi-hourly service from Oslo Central Station, with Halden being the terminal station for all but three daily services to Gothenburg. The station was opened in 1879 as part of the Østfold Line.

Tistedalen

Tistedalen is a part of Halden, Norway. Originally four kilometers from the town centre, the area, from the start growing up around a saw mill, has now been engulfed by Halden itself, although it still maintains some identity. The name Tistedal comes from the river "Tista" and "dal" meaning the valley. It is also called Tistdærn by the locals. Tistedalen is a classic working class community, surrounded by small factories. There is some presence of different religious groups.
