The rest of Imsland, with 372 inhabitants, was merged with Sandeid, Vikedal, Vats and part of Skjold to form the new municipality Vindafjord.

On 1 January 1965 the farms Hapnes and Dokskar, with 2 inhabitants, were incorporated into Tysvær municipality.
