Balsfjorden

Balsfjorden is a fjord in the municipalities of Balsfjord and Tromsø in Troms county, Norway. The 57-kilometre long fjord branches off the Tromsøysundet strait just south of the city of Tromsø and it flows in a north-south direction, ranging from 2 to 7 kilometres (to mi) wide. The European route E8 highway follows most of the eastern shore of the fjord and the European route E6 highway runs along the southern end of the fjord.

Mestervik Chapel

Mestervik Chapel (Norwegian: Mestervik kapell / Meistervik kapell) is a parish church in the municipality of Balsfjord in Troms county, Norway. It is located in the village of Mestervik. The church is part of the Malangen parish in the Indre Troms deanery in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The wooden chapel was built in 1968 (it was originally a school) and it seats about 100 people.

Rya Tunnel

The Rya Tunnel (Norwegian: Ryaforbindelsen or Ryatunnelen) is a subsea road tunnel which links the island of Kvaløya to the Malangshalvøya peninsula. Located along Norwegian County Road 858, the tunnel runs under Straumsfjorden between the villages of Larseng and Balsnes. The 2,675-metre long tunnel reaches a maximum depth of 87 metres below mean sea level and has a maximum grade of 7.8%.
