Lavangen (fjord)

Lavangen or Lavangsfjorden is a fjord in the municipalities of Lavangen and Salangen in Troms county, Norway. The majority of the fjord is in Lavangen municipality (hence the name of the municipality). The 17-kilometre long fjord flows to the northwest and empties into the larger Astafjorden. The deepest point in the fjord reaches about 202 metres below sea level. The village of Tennevoll lies at the end of the fjord and the village of Å lies on the northern shore.

Mjøsund Bridge

Mjøsund Bridge is a cantilever bridge in Ibestad and Salangen municipalities in Troms county, Norway. It is part of the Norwegian County Road 848 that crosses the Mjøsundet strait between the mainland of Norway and the island of Andørja. The bridge and the nearby Ibestad Tunnel connect the two main islands of Ibestad together with the mainland. The 840-metre long Mjøsund Bridge was opened in 1994 and it cost NOK 203 million.

Gratangen (fjord)

Gratangen is a fjord in the municipality of Gratangen in Troms county, Norway. The 23-kilometre long fjord is an arm off of the main Astafjorden. The municipality of Gratangen surrounds the fjord and is named after the fjord. The fjord is about 1 to 2 kilometres (to mi) wide, except for a very narrow 350-metre wide point in the middle of the fjord where the village of Årstein is located. At that point, the Årstein Bridge on Norwegian County Road 825 crosses the fjord.

SS Dronning Maud (1925)

SS Dronning Maud was a 1,489 ton steel-hulled steamship built in 1925 by the Norwegian shipyard Fredrikstad Mekaniske Verksted in Fredrikstad. Dronning Maud was ordered by the Trondheim-based company Det Nordenfjeldske Dampskipsselskap for the passenger and freight service Hurtigruten along the coast of Norway. She served this route as the company flagship until she was sunk under controversial circumstances during the 1940 Norwegian Campaign.

Gratangen Church

Gratangen Church is a parish church in the municipality of Gratangen in Troms county, Norway. It is located in the village of Årstein, along the shore of the Gratangen fjord. The church is part of the Gratangen parish in the Trondenes deanery in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The concrete and glass church was designed by the architect Oskar Norderval, the son of Bishop Monrad Norderval. The church was built in 1971 and it seats about 230 people.
