Kohala Bridge

The Kohala Bridge across the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus River, forms part of one of the land routes from the Azad Kashmir to the rest of Pakistan. The bridge is located at the town of Kohala, 38 kilometres north of Murree and 35 km south of Muzaffarabad. A suspension bridge was constructed in 1877 and vanished in a 1890 flood. A new transportable steel bridge was constructed in 1899, and in 1990 it too vanished in a flood.

Jandala, Poonch

Jandala is a village in the Rawalakot Tehsil of the Poonch District of Azad Kashmir. It is in the north east of the district, in the hills above the Jhelum Valley. The district was affected by a major earthquake (7.6 on the Richter scale) in October 2005, and suffered from flooding in July 2006. The main language spoken is Pahari. Schools are the government High School,the Nishter Public School Jandala and the Nishter inter college for girls and boys.
