Khanpur is a large village and one of the 44 union councils, administrative subdivisions, of Haripur District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is famous throughout Pakistan for its oranges and is also known for the Khanpur Dam. This dam drowned the old, original village and the present one was later made to replace it.

Khanpur Dam
Khanpur Dam is a dam located on the Haro River near Potowar Plateau and the village of Khanpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, about 25 miles (40 km) from Islamabad, Pakistan. It caters to domestic water supplies in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and irrigation water to many of the agricultural and industrial areas surrounding the cities. The dam was completed in 1983 after a 15-year construction period believed to have cost Rs. 1,352 million.
