Nara, Attock

Nara is a village and union council of Attock District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan. It is part of Jand Tehsil. Nara (ناڑہ) is a developed village, located in the south western part of Attock district. It is 117 kilometres away from the federal capital, Islamabad. It is situated at the border between the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The Indus River (دریائے سندھ) separates the two provinces. It's approximately 5 kilometres away from the village.

Attock Fort

Attock fort was built at Attock Khurd during the reign of Akbar the Great from 1581 to 1583 under the supervision of Khawaja Shamsuddin Khawafi to protect the passage of the Indus. Attock is a fort and small town in the Punjab Punjab, on the left or east bank of the Indus, 942 miles from the sea, and close below the place where it receives the water of the Kabul River, and first becomes navigable.

Battle of Attock

The Battle of Attock (also known as the Battle of Chuch or the Battle of Haidru) took place on 13 July 1813 between the Sikh Empire and the Durrani Empire. The battle was the first significant Sikh victory over the Durranis.
