2009 Lahore police academy attacks

At 7.30 am (2.30 am UTC) on 30 March 2009, the Manawan Police Academy]] in Lahore, Pakistan was attacked by an estimated 12 gunmen. The perpetrators were armed with automatic weapons and grenades or rockets and some were dressed as policemen. They took over the main building during a morning parade when 750 unarmed police recruits were present on the compound's parade ground. Security forces arrived 90 minutes later and were able to take back the building by 3.30 pm.

Amritsar Tahsil

Amritsar Tahsil was an administrative subdivision of the Punjab province of British India. The tahsil was located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:31|40|N|74|30|E||| |primary |name= }}, and had an area of 545 square miles . It was bounded on the east by the Beas River, which divided it from the State of Kapurthala. The area west of the high bank had a fertile belt of loam, irrigated by wells, which is succeeded by a belt of sandy country.

Batapur

Shalimar Gardens, Lahore

The Shalimar Gardens, sometimes written Shalamar Gardens, is a Pakistani garden and it was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in Lahore, modern day Pakistan. Construction began in 1641 AD (1051 AH) and was completed the following year. The project management was carried out under the superintendence of Khalilullah Khan, a noble of Shah Jahan's court, in cooperation with Ali Mardan Khan and Mulla Alaul Maulk Tuni.
