Allama Iqbal International Airport

Allama Iqbal International Airport is the second largest civil airport in Pakistan, serving Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. Originally known as Lahore International Airport, it was renamed in 2003 for Allama Sir Muhammad Iqbal, the Islamic poet-philosopher who was a major advocate for the creation of the state of Pakistan, upon the opening of the new terminal building. National Hockey Stadium, Lahore

National Hockey Stadium (aka Gadaffi Hockey Stadium) is a purpose build field hockey stadium in Lahore, Pakistan. It is the biggest field hockey stadium in world. 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team

The Sri Lankan cricket team attack occurred on 3 March 2009, when a bus carrying Sri Lankan cricketers, part of a larger convoy, was fired upon by 12 gunmen, near the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan. The cricketers were on their way to play the third day of the second Test against the Pakistani cricket team. Six members of the Sri Lanka national cricket team were injured. Six Pakistani policemen and two civilians were killed.
