Fort San Antonio Abad

Fort San Antonio Abad is a fortification in the Malate district of Manila built during the Spanish Colonial Period in the Philippines. Named in honor of its patron saint, Saint Anthony the Abbott, the structure was originally built in 1584 as a rear protection for the city of Manila. The fort was then located along the shores of Manila Bay like Manila, about 2.8 km south of the city.

Cavite

Cavite (is a province in the Philippines located on the southern shores of Manila Bay in the CALABARZON region in Luzon, just 30 kilometers south of Manila. Cavite is surrounded by Laguna to the east, Metro Manila to the northeast, and Batangas to the south. To the west lies the South China Sea.

Matabungkay

Matabungkay Beach is a white sand beach reasonably accessible to Manila (120 km or so) that was originally 'discovered' to be a great weekend or daytrip destination in the early 1950s, allegedly by sun starved residents of Manila. In fact the German Club had a cottage there then. It was soon a popular target for holidaylovers and permanent cottages (even deluxe beach houses) were built along the beach line (and some into the beach) in the early 1960s for rich Manila folk.
