Verde Island
This article refers to an island, for the body of water see Verde Island Passage. Verde Island is situated along the bodies of Verde Island Passage between the islands of Luzon and Mindoro, Philippines. It was on 1988 when a small village was created through the effort of a European project using technologies such as solar panels for the island's self-sufficiency. Since then, it has been declared by the Philippine Tourism Authority as one of the country's marine reserves.

1994 Mindoro earthquake
The 1994 Mindoro earthquake occurred on November 15, 1994 at 03:15 local time near Mindoro, the Philippines. It had a magnitude of Mw 7.1, or Ms 7.1. 78 people were reported dead. 7566 houses were damaged. The earthquake generated a tsunami and landslides on the Verde Island. The epicenter of this earthquake was located in the Verde Island Passage, a strait separating Luzon and Mindoro. The focal mechanism showed a dominantly right lateral strike-slip faulting.

Isla Verde Passage
Isla Verde Passage (Verde Island Passage) is a strait that separates the islands of Luzon and Mindoro, connecting the South China Sea with the Tayabas Bay and the Sibuyan Sea beyond. It is one of the busiest sea lanes in the Philippines because it is the main shipping route between the Port of Manila and the Visayas and Mindanao in the south. Also many ferries navigate the waters, connecting the surrounding provinces of Batangas, Marinduque, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro and Romblon.

Batangas Bay is a semi-enclosed body of water located in the Philippines. The municipalities of Mabini, Bauan, San Pascual, Tingloy on Maribacan Island and Batangas City are located on the coast of the bay. The water surface area of the bay is about 220 km² (85 mi²), and the coastline has an approximately 470 kilometres . The bay has a maximum depth near the entrance of 466 metres, and includes a number of private and government ports.
