It was created from the barrios of Tubay, La Fraternidad, Tinigbasan, Cabayawa, Victory, Sta. Ana, and Tagmamarcay of the municipality of Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte in 1947, by virtue of Republic Act No. 188.
