1994 Mindoro earthquake
The 1994 Mindoro earthquake occurred on November 15, 1994 at 03:15 local time near Mindoro, the Philippines. It had a magnitude of Mw 7.1, or Ms 7.1. 78 people were reported dead. 7566 houses were damaged. The earthquake generated a tsunami and landslides on the Verde Island. The epicenter of this earthquake was located in the Verde Island Passage, a strait separating Luzon and Mindoro. The focal mechanism showed a dominantly right lateral strike-slip faulting.

Verde Island

It was on 1988 when a small village was created through the effort of a European project using technologies such as solar panels for the island's self-sufficiency.
