Homonhon

Homonhon Island is an island in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines, on the east side of Leyte Gulf. The 20 kilometres long island is part of the municipality of Guiuan. Montoconan, an islet just off the northwest corner of Homonhon, is also part of the 7,000 islands comprising the Philippine Archipelago.

Suluan Island

Suluan Island is a small island in the Philippines, in the province of Eastern Samar. It lies east of Leyte Gulf, near Homonhon Island and Calicoan Island. The island was the first site of anchorage for Ferdinand Magellan's Spanish armada. On March 17, 1521, after 98 days crossing the Pacific Ocean, Magellan's voyage dropped anchor on the island.
