Guiuan Airport is an airport located in the municipality of Guiuan, in the province of Eastern Samar in the Philippines. It is classified as a feeder airport by the Air Transportation Office, a body of the Department of Transportation and Communications that is responsible for the operations of not only this airport but also of all other airports in the Philippines except the major international airports.

Guiuan, Eastern Samar

Guiuan is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines. As of the year 2004, it had a population of 43,169 people in 7,618 households. Guiuan played a significant part in Philippine history. In the 16th century, when Ferdinand Magellan discovered the Philippines, it is believed that he first landed on the island of Homonhon. It is probably because of this that the majority of the population of the town are Catholics.

Mercedes, Eastern Samar

Mercedes is a 4th class municipality in the province of Eastern Samar, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 6,005 people in 945 households. Act No. 960 of the Philippine Commission incorporated the town of Mercedes comprising the barrios of Busay, Anoron, Sungan, Bobon, Banoyo and Boyayawon into Guiuan. In 1948, Republic Act No. 262 recreated the town.
