Banton Island is an island in the province of Romblon in the Philippines. It has one municipality named Banton. It is the most northerly island of the province. The island's area is approximately 2,820 hectares. It has a mountainous and rugged topography due to its volcanic origin. Thus, rice agriculture is difficult in the island, and the only chief industries are copra farming and fishing. Other crops include root crops, vegetables and fruits.
