Valley of Death (Bydgoszcz)

Valley of Death in Fordon, Bydgoszcz, northern Poland, is a site of Nazi German mass murder and a mass grave of 5,000 – 6,600 Poles and Jews murdered in October and November 1939 by the local Germans and the Gestapo. The murders were a part of Intelligenzaktion in Pomerania, a Nazi action aimed at the elimination of the Polish intelligentsia in Reichsgau Danzig-West Prussia, which included the former Pomeranian Voivodeship, at the beginning of World War II.

Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium

Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium (Polish: Kompleks Sportowy "Zawisza" im. Zdzisława Krzyszkowiaka w Bydgoszczy) is a multi-use stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland. It was completed in 1960 with a capacity of about 35,000-45,000 on wooden benches. The stadium was completely rebuilt in 2007-2008, and the current seating capacity is 20,247 people. It is currently used for football matches and track and field events. The stadium is named after Polish Olympic gold medal-winning runner Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak.

Strzelce Górne

Strzelce Górne is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Dobrcz, within Bydgoszcz County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It lies 8 kilometres south of Dobrcz and 14 km north-east of Bydgoszcz.

Bydgoszcz Canal

Bydgoszcz Canal - a canal, 24.7 km long, between the cities of Bydgoszcz and Nakło in Poland, connecting Vistula river with Oder river, through Brda and Noteć rivers (the latter ending in the Warta river which itself ends in Oder). The level difference along the canal is regulated with usage of 6 locks. The canal was built in 1772-1775, at the order of Frederick II, king of Prussia (after annexation of western Poland by Kingdom of Prussia in First Partition of Poland).
