Siekierkowski Bridge

Siekierkowski Bridge is a bridge over the Vistula River in Warsaw, Poland, connecting the Mokotów and Wawer districts. It is a cable-stayed bridge, 500 m long and 33.38 m wide, with three lanes for vehicles, a pavement and a cycle path each way. The structure is supported by two H-pylons, 87.07 m high. When the bridge was opened on 21 September 2002 it was the newest and southernmost of Warsaw's bridges.

Beit Warszawa Synagogue

Beit Warszawa is a liberal Jewish congregation officially formed in 1995 in Warsaw. It operates as a full-fledged synagogue with regular events, including Friday night and Saturday morning prayers. Beit Warszawa is a member of Beit Polska, the umbrella organization for the Progressive/Reform Judaism in Poland.

Wawer massacre

The Wawer massacre refers to the execution of 107 Polish civilians on the night of 26 to 27 December 1939 by the Nazi German occupiers of Wawer, Poland. The execution was a response to the deaths of two German NCOs. 120 people were arrested and 114 shot, of which 7 survived. It is considered to be one of the first large scale massacres of Polish civilians by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland.

Battle of Olszynka Grochowska

The battle of Olszynka Grochowska was the largest battle of the November Uprising and biggest friction in Europe since the battle of Waterloo. It was fought between the armies of Poland and Russia on February 25 in the woods near Grochów, at the eastern outskirts of Warsaw.
