Bierutów (German: Bernstadt an der Weide) is a town in Oleśnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the administrative district called Gmina Bierutów. Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. (For more information on the history of the region, see Silesia. ) The town lies approximately 13 kilometres south-east of Oleśnica, and 35 kilometres east of the regional capital Wrocław. As at 2006, the town has a population of 5,066.
