Olza (river)

is a river in Poland and the Czech Republic, the right tributary of the Oder River. It flows from the Silesian Beskids through southern Cieszyn Silesia in Poland and Frýdek-Místek and Karviná districts of the Czech Republic, often forming the border with Poland. It flows into the Oder River north of Bohumín. The Olza-Oder confluence also forms a border. It is a symbol of the Zaolzie region, which lies on its west bank, constituting a part of the western half of Cieszyn Silesia.

Kolonia Fryderyk

Kolonia Fryderyk is a village in Gmina Gorzyce, Wodzisław County, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. It has a population of 1,105 (2006). It lies approximately 2 kilometres north-east of Gorzyce, 5 km south-west of Wodzisław Śląski, and 52 km south-west of the regional capital Katowice. It was founded in 1911 as a coal mining settlement. Construction of the Friedrich - Schacht coal mine had begun in 1913 and it began operating for war purposes in 1916. It was closed in 1923.
