The Pinhel Castle is a Portuguese castle in Pinhel, a city in the Guarda, in central-eastern Portugal. It has been listed as a Monumento Nacional National monument since 1950. It is one of the most important castles along the Côa river Valley (Terras de Riba-Côa). Guarda Crater

Guarda crater is a possible impact crater located in Guarda District in Portugal. It is estimated to be 200 million years old, and measures 35 kilometres in diameter. The crater itself is located northeast from urban area of Guarda with the center impact probably at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:40|38|48.034|N|7|6|00.499|W| |primary |name= }}. The crater has suffered a lot of hydric erosion.

Battle of Castelo Rodrigo

The Battle of Castelo Rodrigo, was fought on 7 July, 1664, near Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, between Spanish and Portuguese as part of the Portuguese Restoration War. After a number of skirmishes, the Duke of Osuna attacked the castle of Castelo Rodrigo with 7,000 men and 9 pieces of artillery. The castle was only defended by 150 Portuguese. The military commander of the province, Pedro Jacques de Magalhães, rallied 3,000 men and moved to the rescue of Castelo Rodrigo.
