Korochansky District is an administrative district, one of the twenty-one in Belgorod Oblast, Russia. Municipally, it is incorporated as Korochansky Municipal District. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,417 square kilometers . Its administrative center is the town of Korocha. Population: 38,695; 39,722; 39,409. The population of Korocha accounts for 15.2% of the district's total population.

Nezhegol River

Nezhegol is a river in Belgorod Oblast in Russia. It is a left tributary of the Seversky Donets. It is 75 km long, with a drainage basin of 2,878 km². The average discharge is 8.3 m³/sek (3 km from its mouth). Five kilometres before its mouth in the Seversky Donets lies the town of Shebekino.

Seversky Donets River

Seversky Donets (Russian: Северский Донец; Ukrainian: Сіверський Донець; alternatively Donetz) is a river on the south of the East European Plain. It originates in the Central Russian Upland, north of Belgorod, flows south-east through Ukraine and then again through Russia to join the Don River, about 100 km from the Sea of Azov. Seversky Donets is the fourth largest river in Ukraine and is an important source of fresh water in the east of the country.
