Alleroy, Kurchaloyevsky District, Chechen Republic

Alleroy is a rural locality in Kurchaloyevsky District of the Chechen Republic, Russia. Population: 11,132; 10,225. On January 28–29, 2004, a force of Akhmad Kadyrov's Security Service and police carried out a mass cleansing operation in Alleroy, which is also the birthplace of rebel president Aslan Maskhadov. Two days later Sultan Dadayev, who led the operation, and four of his men were shot dead in Aleroy by pro-Maskhadov fighters.

Vedeno

Vedeno is a rural locality and the administrative center of Vedensky District of the Chechen Republic, Russia, located 756 meters above sea level on the northern slope of the Andi range, 55 kilometers southeast of Grozny. Population: 3,186; 1,469; 2,504. The Vedeno Gorge is considered one of the most dangerous regions in Chechnya.
